چکیده
CASE REPORT A 59-year-old man originally presented with T3 pT3NlMO grade 2 prostatic adenocarcinoma after radical retmpubic prostatectomy. After 9 years he underwent surgical castration for a painful solitary metastatic lesion in the right pelvis, confirmed by highly elevated prostatic acid phosphatase and prostate specific antigen (PSA), and a new metastasis seen on a bone scan of the right 0s ischium. Palliative irradiation was given 2 years later due to increasing pain and confirmed histological evidence of metastatic prostatic adencarcinoma tissue by bone biopsy (fig. 1). (The Tandem-E PSA assay was used before January 1993 and the Abbott IMx assay was used thereafter.) PSA increased dramatically 1 year later without clinical signs of local recurrence or new metastatic lesions. Subsequently PSA suddenly and unexpectedly decreased (fig. 2). Presently PSA has been stable at 0.4 MA. (normal 0 to 4) for 12 months and the metastasis seen on the bone scan has completely disap peared. 140

A 70 year old male presented with right lower quadrant pain and anorexia for about 72 hours prior to hospital admission. He underwent laparotomy with impression of acute appendicitis. The operative finding was an inflamed tumoral appendix without appendicular base involvement, and appendectomy was done. The patient had an uneventful post-op course. Due to the pathology report of prostatic ...
متن کاملMeningioma: A false positive finding of metastasis from prostate adenocarcinoma using 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT scan
A 73-year-old man with history of prostatic adenocarcinoma radical prostatectomy underwent 99mTc-MDP whole-body bone scan and subsequent 68Ga-labeled prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) ligand PET/CT for restaging due to a gradual rise of prostate-specific antigen levels. Whole-body bone scan showed two focal zones of slightly increased uptake in the right fronto-par...
متن کاملConcurrent malakoplakia of cervical lymph nodes and prostatic adenocarcinoma with bony metastasis: case report.
SummaryAn unusual case of malakoplakia of the cervical lymph nodes in a patient with bony metastasis from prostrate cancer is reported. An 80-year-old patient with metastatic prostatic cancer presented with bilateral cervical lymphadenopathy, and a hard cervical mass in the left supraclavicular region. Biopsy of the lymph gland revealed the presence of malakoplakia, with no evidence of metastat...
متن کاملDIFFEREN TIATION BETWEEN PROSTATIC\' C A RCINOMA A ND BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA BY AgNOR STAINING
Thirty cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia and 30 cases of prostatic adenocarcinoma were selected and stained by AgNOR (argyrophilic staining of the nucleolar organizer region) method. Specimens were obtained by either prostatectomy (open!TIJR) or needle biopsy of the prostate. In this study, the sections of prostatic adenocarcinoma were reviewed. 6 cases were diagnosed as well-differen...
متن کاملCorrelation between staining intensity of prostatic adenocarcinoma with P53 and Gleason's grading
Introduction: Prostatic adenocarcinoma is the most common malignancy of internal system and after lung cancer is the second cause of death in male. Genetic base of many neoplasms is related to suppressor tumor gene such as P53. Therefore, we aimed in this study, to assess the intensity of prostatic adenocarcinoma tissue staining with P53 staining method and its relationship with Gleason grade. ...
